Konjunkturumfrage unter deutschen Unternehmen in den USA ergibt
positives Stimmungsbild: 81 Prozent planen keine weiteren Entlassungen.

Washington D.C. ­ 43% der befragten deutschen Unternehmen in den USA nahmen im Jahr 2009 Personalkürzungen vor. 81% planen für 2010 keine weiteren Entlassungen. Fast drei Viertel der Firmen sind positiv gestimmt und erwarten für das kommende Jahr
moderates Wachstum. Insbesondere innovative Industriesparten wie Erneuerbare Energien, Energieeffizienz und Infrastruktur stellen künftig das größte Wachstumspotential für deutsche
Unternehmen in den USA dar.

Die Konjunkturumfrage “German American Business Outlook” wurde von der Deutsch-Amerikanischen Handelskammern (AHK USA) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Delegierten der Deutschen Wirtschaft in Washington (RGIT) und Roland Berger Strategy Consultants durchgeführt. Sie richtete sich an mehr als 1.600 Hauptniederlassungen deutscher Unternehmen in den
USA. Die Rücklaufquote betrug 10%, drei Viertel der Antworten kamen aus dem ,klassischen Mittelstand’ mit bis zu 250 Beschäftigten.

Den Umfrageergebnissen zufolge nutzten die Firmen die Krise vor allem, um ihre Produktion zu rationalisieren und sehen sich
nun in der Lage, Innovationen wie z.B. neue Produktlinien auf den Markt zu bringen, oder neue Märkte zu testen. Während 2009 noch 20% ihre Marketingausgaben gekürzt haben, so planen dies für das kommende Jahr nur noch 9%.

Die Gesamtinvestitionen deutscher Unternehmen in den USA erreichten zum Ende des Jahres 2008 ca. 212 Milliarden USD. Die Firmen beschäftigen rund 664.000 Arbeitnehmer, davon allein 240.000 im produzierenden Gewerbe.
